Thirukkural is woven into Tamil Nadu’s cultural and moral fabric. He made 1330 Kurals (short textual pieces) over 2000 years ago.
The Times of India entered the project into Global Media Award.
Its goal is to demonstrate the everyday relevance of the Kurals to younger and English-speaking readers.

How to do it?
A very personal approach: take all kinds of known people and asks them: “which of the texts had which effect on you in which way?”
The result are 3 minute videos instagram offer very practical, real, helpful dimension to the very short texts of Thirukkural.

As example:
One long chief doctor of a huge hospital turned one text into:
“One who does no fear problems will give problems to the problems”.
While talking about patients coming with health problems to the clinic.

Then spark community participation by inviting to share favourite Kurals and personal interpretations. Every country has an author who is has the strongest influence on daily life because what was written has become part of everyday speaking, thinking, living. An excellent project.
